Cooling Tower Leak Repair
Is not as simple as rolling a coating onto your cooling tower. The videos and pictures to the left illustrate that generally there are repairs that need to be made. Applying coatings on top of rust and corrosion will prevent them from bonding to the underlying metal therefore causing them to fail. For that reason proper surface preparation includes abrasive blasting of the metal surfaces.
Southeastern Industrial Liningsrepairs cooling tower leaks and brings the towers back to full service at a fraction of the cost of replacement. We remove and discard the old media. All metal surfaces are blasted with a garnet / water slurry that removes the rust and corrosion. Locally fabricated replacment parts eliminates the issue of obsoleted or overpriced factory parts. Sheet metal plates are used to repair large holes and geo-textile / polyurea patches repair small holes.
Endless industrial applications use Polyurea. It is so tough that it is suitable for vehicular traffic. For cooling tower leak repair it offers a seamless, thick, flexible, long lasting lining system. Applied at 165 degrees and 2,500 psi, it cures to touch in about 20-30 seconds. At 60-80 mils thick it has around 2,200 lb tensile strength and it never cracks.
Southeastern Industrial Linings has restored towers in downtown Chicago, New York, Miami and all over the Eastern US. There is a huge cost benefit in downtown areas or high rise buildings where street closures and cranes are required to replace a tower.
